Fresh New Look

This yard just needed to be updated. The existing evergreen shrubs seemed to be overwhelming the house. My design replaced the narrow front walkway with a wider, curving concrete-and-slate walk. Interweaving the lawn and planting beds created more visual interest. Layered plantings of trees, shrubs and perennials – varieties that would thrive in the heavy clay soil – were chosen to add color and texture.
